My name is Kayla Sevier. I am currently a graduate from North Park, and I am an artist. I enjoy all things that are art related, yet I have a certain unique style of my own. I enjoy painting and drawing, and I always try to come up with new a creative things to create art from. I have a unique and individual personality and I like having fun doing everything in my life. My hobbies include drawing, painting, listening to music, taking photographs, writing novels, reading and playing video games.
Many things have happened in my lifetime that have shaped the person that I am now. Many people have come and gone and now I have learned to depend on myself. I enjoy spending the majority of my time alone, as I can think and understand myself on a deeper level. I think about life and the way people act, much of the ideas for my work are developed in this time. I create things that make me happy, that bring certain feelings or thoughts to mind, or just an expression of my emotions.
Art shouldnt just be made to make money or to impress others, i believe art should be a representation of yourself. I paint things that I like and that I enjoy, because if you dont have a sort of love for the subject matter the final product will not have the same quality. Sometimes I find it benefitial to just sit in absolute silence and let your mind think about anything. Think about things you like, people you care about, people you hate, an event, life, death, and then just draw. Dont set out thinking "What am I going to draw" just do it. Something will happen. A snapshot will be taken of your mind on the page in front of you. Artists sometimes find writing another good way to express themselves. Something could just inspire you someday and you could create something beautiful, or something completely horrible. You just have to let yourself create it with no interuptions.Always keep an eye open, becasue you never know.
